Born and raised in Kansas, Darren received his dual degree in Christian Service and Finance from Manhattan Christian College and Kansas State University. During college, Darren preached at the Rosalia Christian Church north of Wichita. Following graduation and ordination into ministry, he interned with the largest independent Christian Church in the country, Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, assisting with the church's $11.5 million campaign for the Youth Activity Center.
Darren earned his MBA from the University of Louisville, and earned his CFP® designation from the CFP Board.
He came to Christian Financial Resources in June of 1997 and now serves as the chief executive officer. Since his arrival CFR has grown from $8 million in assets under management to about $120 million in assets under management. Darren also serves on the board of Florida Church Partners, a church-planting ministry.
Darren and his wife Rachel have four children. Alex and Scarlett are adopted from Russia and Kyrgyzstan and the Keys were also blessed with biological twins named Amelia and Juliette.
Mike began his duties as CFR's COO in October, 2005. He has served in leadership roles in the Christian church for over 20 years, most recently at Journey Christian Church in Orlando. Mike holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida and a Master of Arts in Theology from Reformed Theologial Seminary (RTS). He has recently begun coursework towards his PhD at Regent University's School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship. He also serves as director of Florida Church Partners, a church planting ministry.
Mike and his wife, Mary Ann, have been married for thirty years. They have four children: Michele, Melanie, Melissa, and Matthew.
Tim Stephens serves as Chief Development Officer at CFR. He is an Atlanta native and a graduate of Atlanta Christian College and he earned his MBA from Georgia State University.
After serving four years in a preaching ministry in Kentucky, Tim moved to Florida where he assisted with two church starts in West Palm Beach and Tampa. Tim spent the last decade with Church Development Fund helping to grow the Southern Region. He attends and serves at Christian Church Buckhead in Atlanta. Tim and his beautiful wife Amy have 4 children- Grace, Drew, Zach, and Chloe.
Jose joined CFR in September, 2005. Originally from New York, he has been a Florida resident for over 20 years. Jose holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida and he is also a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS). Prior to joining the ministry, Jose worked as a business analyst for a global human resource outsourcing firm in Orlando. He, his wife Vilmarie, and their twin boys Alex and Aidan currently reside in Sanford and attend LifePoint Christian Church in Lake Mary.
Sharon joined CFR in September, 1994 and she currently serves as the investments manager. Before joining the ministry, Sharon worked for State Farm Insurance’s home office in Winter Haven, Florida. She has also worked in the loan department at First Union Bank. Sharon and her husband Ron, have two children, Stacey and Ronnie.
Robin joined CFR in January, 2006, and she currently serves as the IRA manager. Robin ran her own business in Jacksonville for 11 years before moving to the Orlando area. She enjoys time with her children Jordan, Jayna, and Joel, daughter-in-law Lynae, and her grandson Breydon.
Tom Hafer rejoined CFR in May, 2006 as accounting manager after a previous term with the ministry from 1984 to 1987. Prior to that term he had ministered with Sharon Christian Church of West Palm Beach from (1977 to 1983) after graduating from Great Lakes Christian College in Michigan and attending Lincoln Christian Seminary in Illinois. Earlier he held administrative and accounting positions with Orlando area businesses.
Tom and wife Paula are members of Journey Christian Church in Apopka. They have two grown sons, Steve and Scott. Steve lives in Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Scott lives in California with wife Tatiana and their sons Luke and Will.
Tiffany joined the CFR team in July, 2011. She came to CFR as a recent graduate from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Business Administration. Her studies had a strong concentration on marketing and business writing. Tiffany is a member of Journey Christian Church in Apopka and spends her free time cooking, bowling, and laughing with her awesome family and friends.
Haylee joined the CFR team in December, 2011. She is a junior at Seminole High School and is dual enrolled at Seminole State College. Haylee is a member of Northland Christian Church. She enjoys singing and recording music at a local studio. In her spare time she loves to go fishing and spends the majority of her weekends at the beach with her family and friends.
