Job Description: Vice President of Lending
Job Summary
The Vice President of Lending will help oversee all aspects of lending activity along with credit analysis and Regional Vice Presidents support. This role partners with leadership to support loan production, ensure credit quality, and develop lending staff.
Position Details
Title: Vice President of Lending
Reports to: Chief Lending Officer
Department: Loans
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Education: Bachelor’s degree (Finance/Accounting preferred)
Experience: 7–10+ years commercial lending/credit experience, preferred
Core Responsibilities
• Lead underwriting and credit analysis in accordance with CFR policy
• Perform due diligence on borrowers, collateral, and projects
• Assist with construction lending including budgets, draws, and project monitoring
• Manage loan renewals and other portfolio management functions
• Support loan participations including structuring and partner coordination
• Partner with RVPs on origination, structuring, and closing
• Manage underwriting pipeline for efficiency and turnaround time
• Assists with quarterly requirements with key banking partners
• Provide credit recommendations and assist with loan committee meetings
• Proactively manage problem loans and recommend workout strategies
• Ensure compliance with policy, documentation, and regulations
• Provide coaching and development to lending staff
• Improve processes and support operational efficiencies
• Represent CFR in ministry updates (12-18 per year)
Core Competencies
• Strong credit and analytical skills with the ability to structure complex transactions
• Experience with commercial real estate, construction lending, and loan participations
• Familiarity with nonprofit, church, or mission-based lending preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of information, documentation, and transactions while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple lending relationships, projects, and deadlines
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to customer service
• Experience utilizing CRM and loan management platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics, preferred
