Christ Church of Winchester for many years met in several rental spaces at a shopping plaza. The situation was less than ideal for the congregation, but they made it work. However, when a denominational church closed their doors, and the building became available the CCW leadership moved forward quickly to secure a loan to purchase the vacated building.

Christian Financial Resources provided the loan for the purchase and helped them have a building of their own. Christ Church took possession on August 21, and the congregation held their first worship service on August 31. Since moving, there has been a significant increase in attendance and more families are being touched by the Lord. 

Their new location is less than 4 miles from the shopping plaza where they held services. It is located on 3.6 acres and is visible from a 4 lane parkway. The building contains 18,480 sq. ft. which includes a sanctuary, full basement, gymnasium, 2 extra-large classrooms and 4-5 smaller ones, fellowship hall with full kitchen, storage rooms and offices. In addition to the main building, the property includes a picnic pavilion and ball field. The gym is used most weekday evenings by the church and the community.

The new facility provides the increased needed space for CCW’s Genesis Academy, an educational program for special needs kids, to flourish and serve as a key outreach to the community. Thirty nine students are enrolled in this unique ministry.
